Breeding Objectives
With the prime White Dorpers we are endeavoring to combine the traits of one of the most popular terminal sires in Australia with the extremely productive hardy low maintenance White Dorper.
The White Suffolk brings some length and a little more stature to the Dorper breed and this makes them more appealing to sheep producers. Both breeds have the same early maturing premium carcass, are fertile and produce a lot of great lambs.
The White Dorper cleans the lambs up reducing the maintenance costs, gives them the advantage of being able to do better in the paddock for longer and in the case of the ewe lambs the option of using them as breeders and the option to run a self replacing flock. The White Dorper is an extremely good mother, produces a lot of milk and is the perfect low maintenance breeding base.
The first cross Saltbush Prime White Dorpers are an excellent terminal sire and gives new comers to the White Dorper sheep the chance to see the advantages of the breed.
The second and third cross Prime White rams are exceptional sheep and are hard to pick from full blood rams. For those people that are entering the breed these rams are cost effective options.
